I really want to go to a meet-up. But since i am only thirteen i’m afraid that people will look down on me, just because of my age. I know there’s a whole lot of people in the BJD-community that doesn’t like owners under 15.
One of the girls at my very first meet up was very young, however both her and her older sister was in the hobby so we had both of them together. I *think* the youngest might have been 14 at the time, but she was very mature for her age so it was all OK, she is a lovely person to talk to.
If you where going to a meet I probably would advise you take someone you know who is a little older to be on the safe side. It could be good to look into though since this hobby does have people of all ages.
One of the best meet-ups I went to was held at a girls house she was 15 and yes her parents were there, and it was them and me and my two friends (who were all in college at the time). It was still fun we bonded over the dolls and doll clothing and taking fun photos and creating a photostory. There are a surprising amount of jerks in this hobby, but your age should not mean much and I say it doesn’t. I agree with Karla-chan though bring an older friend or sibling just to be safe and in case people actually are jerks.
